Does One Size Fit All? Delta Dental PPO vs. Delta Dental Premier

Whether you’re already a Delta Dental member, a soon-to-be member or a prospective member, you might not know about our dual network. Delta Dental of Missouri and Delta Dental of South Carolina have two networks: the Delta Dental PPOSM Network and the Delta Dental Premier® Network. So, how does each network function?

Delta Dental PPOSM Network

Depending on your plan type, you can usually see any dentist. However, you typically will receive the largest discounts by visiting a dentist who participates in the Delta Dental PPOSM Network. Dentists who participate in the Delta Dental PPOSM Network agree to accept the Delta Dental PPO fee schedules as payment in full. This results in more savings and lower out-of-pocket costs for you.

Delta Dental Premier® Network

Four out of five dentists participate in the Delta Dental Premier® Network nationwide. These dentists have agreed to accept contracted fees for dental procedures, and they can’t bill you above that amount. This offers you protection and peace of mind.

Dentists who participate in the Delta Dental Premier® Network or Delta Dental PPOSM Network dentists will file claims for you. Regardless of which Delta Dental plan you choose, you will have a wide selection of dentists available from which to receive services.
